This site hosts my Honours year thesis completed at Macquarie University - Sydney Australia in year 2000. Given the interesting findings and its novel research approach, I like to share it with Finance researchers around the globe.
This site contains all the chapters in the thesis - password protected, the original data-sets and the programs used.
The visitors need to have Microsoft Word and Excel 2000 in order to view the thesis and the attached datasets.
If they do not have these softwares at the correct version, they can go to the Microsoft Update home page to freely download a shareware Microsoft Word and/or Excel viewers.
In order to run the Matlab programs, you can download a free trial version of the MatLab package from Matlab Website.

In order to run the Ordered Logit program, you need to have the Limdep - Limited Dependent program, which you can download a free trial version from its website.

I also like to dedicated this thesis to Mr Dave McGuire, because, his McGuire recovering stuttering program had helped hundreds if not thousands of people like myself to recover from stuttering, which had held me back for many years.
My name is John Cheng, I am an Australian with Chinese(Han) Background. who live in Sydney Australia. I completed this Honours year thesis in year 2000.
The thesis is exceptionally detailed and novel, as it contains 60,000 words, which exceeds the normal Honors year thesis of 25,000 words.
I am in the process of publishing this thesis into several journal articles, given that it will takes months if not years to process the normal publication process, I decided to share my work with Finance Researchers around the globe using the Web-site.
On my personal side, I am a recovering stutter. Some people might feel shameful or even embarrassed to be known as a stutter, however, I like to thank my stuttering, because during my winning battle against this speech impediment, it had fostered me into someone who has a very strong character and who will never give up under any adverse circumstances. I believe these characters will helped me to eventually climb onto the highest mountain, and be on top of the world.
